I used giscus for comments on this blog, but it required visitors to sign in to GitHub. I wanted people to be able to leave a quick comment without creating an account or signing in.
So I built Anocus. Visitors can leave a name and a message, and reply to each other. Cloudflare Turnstile helps keep bots out.
Comments without an account
Anocus adds a comment widget to a static site. It supports threaded replies and can store comments in either GitHub Discussions or Cloudflare KV. The server code runs on Cloudflare Pages Functions.
It’s open source under the MIT license. You can try it in the comment section of this site’s blog posts.
